Company 15 was notified of a structure fire at 12 West Ave. at 6:19 p.m. Engines 1511 and 1515 along with utility 1530 and 1531 arrived on scene at 6:24 p.m. and advised heavy flames showing. Water supply was established from a hydrant across the street from the residence. The fire was marked under control by 1501 at 6:42 p.m. Horsepasture fire also responded to assist. The home was not occupied and had not been for several months. All units were clear at 8:35 p.m.
Ridgeway Fire was notified of a MVC involving a car running into a house on Greensboro Road at 11:16 p.m. Utility 1530 and Engine 1517 arrived on scene at 11:20 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. All occupants inside the residence were okay. Ridgeway Fire members stood by while the car was removed from inside the living room of the house. 1501 advised all units were clear at 12:49 a.m.
Company 15 was notified of a Smoke Investigation at 85 Phospho Springs Road on 1-21-2010 at 4:07 a.m. Utility 1530 was on scene at 4:10 a.m. with 1501 advising heavy smoke coming from inside a trailer. Engine 1510 and Tanker 1517 also responded. The fire was determined to have started as a result of an electrical problem with the dryer’s power source. The 3 occupants of the residence was treated by Ridgeway Rescue Squad for smoke inhalation. Damage to the residence was estimated at less than $500.00 and all units were clear from the scene at 5:03 a.m.
Company 15 was notified of a MVC with injury on Greensboro Road at the intersection of Joseph Martin Hiway at 4:20 p.m. Utility 1530 and Mini Pumper 1535 were on scene at 4:26 p.m. with 1501 signing in as Command of the incident. Injuries were found to be minor and 1 person was taken to the hospital. All units were clear from the scene at 5:10 p.m.
Company 15 was notified of a structure fire on Old Leaksville Road at 9:09 p.m. on January 5, 2010. Engines 1511,1515,Tankers 1516,1517,Utility 1530 and 1531 responded. Utility 1530 marked on scene at 9:12 p.m. advising heavy flames showing. Additional units from Horsepasture Fire dept. responded to assist. The fire was marked under control by 1501 at 10:56 p.m. All units were clear at 12:34 a.m. The house was occupied and the fire was believed to have been started by grease on the stove. The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross. The home was a total loss.
Company 15 was notified of a MVC with vehicle roll over on Joseph Martin Hiway at 9:28 p.m. Mini Pumper 1535 and Utility 1530 was on scene at 9:34 p.m. with 1501 signing in command. Members worked to stop and contain a small gas leak due to the vehicle being on it’s side. The driver of the vehicle had no injuries and refused to go to the hospital. All Ridgeway Fire units cleared the scene at 10:30 p.m.
